Dancer Singer Actor
Performer
Ginette Simonot is a Calgary-area actor, singer, dancer and Theatre Administration professional. She’s been “playing pretend” and dressing up in costumes for as long as she can remember and loves to tell stories about the human experience.
After completing her B.A. in Languages & Linguistics (with minors in Russian & French Languages), she promptly moved to Calgary and began her foray into the Calgary Performing Arts Scene.
Before even landing employment, Ginette engaged herself in a Community Theatre production, eventually performing in over 40 staged performances with 7 companies (Attic Players, Front Row Centre Players, Morpheus Theatre, Simply Theatre, Scorpio Theatre & StoryBook Theatre.) She has also found her way into the local improv comedy and interactive theatre scene, performing in hundreds of interactive shows with Smoking Gun Entertainment, character deliveries with Teebreeze Entertainment (specializing in Marilyn Monroe), and most notably as a last-minute replacement for Tina Vitale in Miraten Productions of Tony & Tina’s Wedding.
Ginette has proudly originated 6 roles from Calgary playwrights, and happily engages herself in the workshopping of original scripts whenever possible. She has also been a part of multiple dance performance troupes: Joyce Reddy Dancers, Fineza Flamenca and EDGE Dance Theatre, and continues to practice ballet to this day. She has performed in musicals, comedies, dramas & children’s theatre, and loves the challenge of multiple character roles.
Non-theatrical pursuits include sunflower gardening, never-ending renovating of her Century Home, and overdosing on orange-tabby kitty-snuggles.
